continue to move out of apartments and leave their hipster neighbourhoods to <strong>purchase family-sized houses <\/strong>as they reach the family formation stage of their lives.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Decentralisation<\/strong> of the population will continue - but regional councils will need to make more land available for development.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Hybrid work<\/strong> will dominate in Australia.<br \/>\nAnd as many will still need to go to the office occasionally, settling too far away from the office towers isn\u2019t an option for many.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>House prices<\/strong> will continue to rise due to strong demand, and this will increase when migrants return.<br \/>\nOur government has no interest whatsoever in pushing house prices down.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-153522 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/house-building-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"House Building\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/house-building-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/house-building-800x534.jpg 800w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/house-building-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/house-building.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>The <strong>average Australian house<\/strong> will get bigger in 2022 as lockdowns pulled functions from outside the home into our homes.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">Bunnings, Barbecues Galore, Harvey Norman \u2014 all those <strong>cocooning businesses<\/strong> will be doing really well.<br \/>\nA fair bit of our disposable income will be used to make the family home more liveable.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Market research<\/strong> needs to be more careful with segmenting the population because one size doesn't fit all since we were impacted by Covid in a much different way across the country.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">The <strong>socioeconomic divide<\/strong> will continue to widen.<br \/>\nThe pandemic didn\u2019t impact all of us in the same way.<br \/>\nHighly skilled workers kept their jobs and many industries saw big profits while lower-skilled workers lost their jobs at high rates.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">Baby boomers will act with a sense of urgency as they feel cheated out of two good years of <strong>retirement<\/strong>.<br \/>\nExpect quite a bit of spending out of this cohort.<br \/>\n<!-- \/21854739906\/NIPAll \r\n<div });\r\n  <\/script>\r\n<\/div> -->\r\n\r\n<div class=\"adplugg-tag\" data-adplugg-zone=\"negotiate_influence_persuade_body_\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">The trend towards <strong>sliding into retirement<\/strong> by slightly decreasing the workload continues.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">The <strong>healthcare boom<\/strong> continues as the fastest growing economy in Australia.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Gen X<\/strong> will be taking over more leadership positions as Baby Boomers leave the workforce.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Near-universal skills shortage<\/strong> will be a driving force of holding back economic growth in Australia, and that's a big problem.<br \/>\nThe short-term solution will be for\u00a0<strong>existing staff to work longer hours<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">More retail spending will take place <strong>online<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">There will be no Corona baby boom (forget about it!) \u2014 the <strong>birth rate<\/strong> will continue to decline rather than rise.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">The <strong>demand for childcare<\/strong> will remain stable despite declining births as women will return to work within a year of childbirth in high numbers.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">The world will praise Australia for its <strong>handling of Covid<\/strong> because the world will simply be looking at deaths per million and the vaccination rate.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-141084 img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/fire-300x207.jpg\" alt=\"Fire\" width=\"300\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/fire-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/fire-600x413.jpg 600w, https:\/\/cdn.propertyupdate.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/fire.jpg 617w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><strong>Extreme weather events<\/strong> will become increasingly more frequent, so we must prepare for them.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">Older generations will join the young generations in demanding <strong>better digital services<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">'<strong>The death of the wallet<\/strong>' \u2014 you will find yourself walking around the country without carrying a wallet and just handling things with your phone.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\">2022 will see the <strong>return of migration<\/strong> at scale \u2014 international students will be the first to arrive in Australia.<\/li>\n<li style=\"line-height: 30px;\"><strong>Australians will continue to be a very optimistic, forward-looking, and positive bunch of people.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">Note:
